The Doll's New TV

Kairi made a new television for her dolls today, using a plastic box a toy came in.  She wrapped the box in black electrical tape, and used some Paul Frank (the cute monkeys seen at Target) duct tape for the TV screen.  She made the knobs out of beads, and used some craft foam for the rest of the components, and also used craft foam to make a remote control.  We took a picture of her doll enjoying their new TV and posted it below!

Sushi!

We both like sushi (although Kairi doesn't like raw fish in hers... yet), and so we were pretty excited when My Froggy Stuff posted a video on how to make doll sushi (myfroggystuff.blogspot.com) using pony beads, craft foam and electrical tape.  We had a lot of fun doing this, and the results are below!

Peasant Blouse

Thanks to Pinterest, I found a website with an easy way to make a peasant blouse for any doll!  The website is http://dorriebelle.tripod.com/id30.html and also has a neat page on making sweaters from socks.  I tried this out with some vintage fabric from my mom's stash, and made a cute top for Toni (one of my Kish dolls).  It was so quick and easy, we will definitely be doing this again!

MyFroggyStuff-- Our New Addiction

This week I heard about a site called My Froggy Stuff (myfroggystuff.blogspot.com) which has oodles of great videos showing how to make fun doll crafts.  The owner of the site has also made several short movies starring her dolls that are very well done.  Kairi can't get enough of the videos, and tonight we decided to make something from one of them: Chinese takeout.  The boxes can be printed out from www.printmini.com and then we took thread and felt to make the contents of the boxes (what a great idea!).  We took pictures and posted them below.

We will definitely be making more things from this site!

Doll Food Fun

We enjoy making miniature food, and today we tried two new kinds of clay to make our food: Cloud Clay, which is similar to Crayola's Model Magic, but stickier, and Makins, an air-dry polymer clay.  Both were fun to work with, although the Makins clay dries really fast, so some clay got pitched because we didn't use it fast enough.  Something to be careful of next time.

So what did we make?  Kairi made a fruit bowl with apples, bananas, grapes, oranges, blueberries and a pear, and made some small cakes.  Janet made homemade pizza and a small cake, and helped Kairi make a homemade pizza.  It was a lot of fun, and you can see the results below!
